We are proud to share a chapter of Roman history that sits at the very heart of our association’s home. Our buildings hold a legacy that stretches from ancient empires to modern-day Rome, specifically tied to the historic “Tenuta di Acquabullicante.”
The Princely Connection
These structures were once an integral part of the vast landholdings of the Princes Del Drago, one of Rome’s most storied noble families. The name “Acquabullicante” (bubbling water) serves as a poetic reminder of the natural springs and the marrana (stream) that once defined this rural landscape before it became the vibrant urban center it is today.
A Street of Many Names
Long before it was known as Via Labico, this path was called Vicolo dei Carbonari. This name reflected the street’s industrial grit, as it housed the charcoal stores and traders who fueled the city’s hearths and workshops. It wasn’t until 1925 that it was renamed Via Labico to honor the ancient Latin city of Labicum and the nearby Via Labicana.
A Crossroads of History
Located within the ancient imperial estate of Ad Duas Lauros, our location is surrounded by millennia of history, from the Mausoleum of Helena to the hidden Roman colombari that still rest beneath the neighborhood’s surface.
Today, as the owners and stewards of these buildings, we don’t just see real estate—we see a bridge between eras. We are honored to preserve a site where the grandeur of the Del Drago estate meets the hardworking spirit of old Rome.
